Civil / Structural Engineering Design:

Engaged as Civil / Structural Engineering Consultants for Fluor Corporation (Ireland). Responsible for design of all civil and structural elements of development during the conceptual and preliminary engineering phases.

Wyeth Medica Ireland (WMI) (now Pfizer) Newbridge is a large-scale multi function pharmaceutical manufacturing, storage, and distribution facility with over 1,500 employees. This project represented a major expansion of the existing Oral Solid Dosage (OS) or Tabletting Facilities and was split into 2 distinct parts. The first part was the Enabling Works Contract, which included a new main entrance to the public road, some 1,800m of internal distribution roads, 250m3 storm water attenuation tanks, 1,100 employee and 450 contractor car-parking spaces, 400 dia.gas main diversion, 38KV overhead cable diversion along with associated surface water and foul drainage, underground utilities (gas, telecoms, electrical etc).The second part was the Main Contract Works including 20,000m2 of manufacturing and services areas, 3,000m2 Central Utilities Building, 2,500m2 of offices and a raw materials cold store.

GDCL have previously been involved in successful completion of some 15 projects on the Newbridge Facility site, including previous major expansions, utility upgrades, internal laboratory and pilot manufacturing projects.
